From building sculptures, communities and structures to reimagining classrooms, museum spaces and landscapes, Tyler’s community embraces innovation with purpose. And our stories are rich.

Michael LoFurno + Kate Benisek
Landscape Architecture Associate Professors
Michael LoFurno and Kate Benisek nurtured students through the Design-Build Studio and onto top honors at the 2025 Philadelphia Flower Show, which included the PHS Gold Medal, Bulkley Medal of the Garden Club of America and the Alfred M. Campbell Memorial Trophy. Their piece, “Reflections on Regeneration: An Artful Response to Our Changing Environment,” invited viewers to "imagine a future where we embrace transformation and metamorphosis."
“Year after year, our exhibits intentionally introduce visitors to creative and beneficial things that they can do in their own gardens and gardening communities,” Benisek said of the awards. “To be recognized for these efforts is meaningful and reinforces our programs’ missions and exhibit project goals.”
