Some core courses include both bachelor’s degree and master’s degree students in the same or allied fields — allowing for more advanced students with a variety of experiences to mentor and model professional skills.

Master of Architecture Degree

Tyler’s NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture degree delivers the fundamental and emerging knowledge required for a career as a licensed architect.  

  • Professional track (2 years) for those with a BSArch from Tyler or equivalent pre-professional degree from elsewhere 
  • Intensive design track (3 years) for those with bachelor’s degrees in other disciplines 
  • Accelerated 4+1 (5 years) for those who want to earn back-to-back degrees — both BSArch and MArch from Tyler

Designed for post-professional students, Tyler’s MS in facilities planning lets you study full time or part time. Master of Landscape Architecture

Accredited by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board, this degree offers both full-time and part-time study. Tyler offers two tracks to better serve students’ needs. 

  • 2-year track, if you already earned an accredited bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or architecture 
  • 3-year track, if your bachelor’s degree is in another, non-design discipline

Facilities, Studios and Labs  

Tyler offers purposely designed spaces, including expansive design studios, collaboration labs, classrooms and exhibition spaces. You also get access to both the Architecture Woodshop and Architecture Digital Fabrication Lab — staffed with technical service pros to help you. Our Ambler Campus boasts a 187-acre arboretum and 5,600-square-feet of greenhouse space.

Urban Workshop 

Founded in 2003, the Urban Workshop serves underserved communities and community organizations by creating beautiful, just and sustainable places . Funded by Temple University’s Office of Research and several other grants, the workshop features collaborations with local architecture firms and other academics.
